Sunday Church School is held during the regular school year. Grade levels are “Little Angels” through 12th grade. This year Sunday Church School Registration will take place on Sunday September 9 and Sunday September 23 immediately following Church services in the coffee hour. 2012 – 2013 Registration Forms will be available at the bulletin board, in the church office, and will be emailed to parents who are on the email list. Please complete the Registration Forms in advance whenever possible, to expedite the registration process. Please take the time to fill out all of the required information clearly and accurately because this information will serve as the data and communication base for you for the entire year. Bring the completed form with you on Registration Sunday. The Registration fee will remain the same, $35 per student, and will cover the cost of books and supplies for the year.

Our Easter and Pascal Season was filled with much joy this year as the children of the Sunday Church School participated in many of the Easter and spring activities.
This year’s Lenten Retreat was held on the Saturday of Lazarus with the theme ‘A passport to Pascha’. The children visited 5 different rooms where they received a talk and an activity about the events of each day of Holy Week. They also had Communion Breakfast and the opportunity to make palm crosses after the Retreat. It was a fun day and a rewarding learning experience for all.
During Holy Week many of our Sunday School students participated in Holy Week services as Altar Boys and Myrofores. This year we had a record high of 15 girls as Myrofores.
On Sunday March 23 St. Athanasios held its annual St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival. Congratulations to Eleni Bakogiannis our Senior Division Finalist and Katherine Scoullos, our Junior Division Finalist. They represented us in the Regional level Festival and did a great job. We are proud of all the students who participated in this public speaking festival – Ke se Anotera!

Sunday Church School Graduation June 1st.
We will be holding Sunday School and Greek School Graduation on Sunday June 1. Please join us as we award our students with promotional and graduation diplomas.

Summer is a time that families have that extra time to worship together without the interruption of activities or the distractions that often interfere with family worship. Please take advantage of that time for spiritual bonding and continue to attend church services regularly during the summer months.
