Athanasios is an organization whose primary purpose is aimed toward\u00a0philanthropic endeavors and programs.\u00a0 All men and women in our parish may become members of this society,\u00a0which provides for the disadvantaged and assists the church in many ways. \u00a0\u00a0Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are a Parishioners,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear Fellow Parishioners and Philoptochos Stewards:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our Philoptochos Chapter has had a very busy spring, and are gearing up for the summer months when we take a vacation from our hard work, but not a vacation from church.\u00a0\u00a0 We are proud to congratulate Xanthippe Nakopoulos who was our recent honoree at the Metropolis Clergy Laity Recognition Dinner.\u00a0\u00a0 Xanthippe emulates all that is good and charitable in this world.\u00a0 She is constantly working on behalf of the church and Philoptochos.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Axia!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amongst the mission of Philoptochos is promoting Orthodoxy.\u00a0\u00a0 Our chapter made a donation to St. Athanasios General Fund of $3000.00 on Mother\u2019s day, as well as a donation to offset the expenses of the Festival of $2000.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cornerstone of Philoptochos is our Social Services Program.\u00a0\u00a0 We are here to assist \u00a0Orthodox Christian individuals and families who are in the United States, regardless of their immigration status, to address and resolve their human service and\/or financial challenges as effectively as possible.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Services provided:<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><b>Social Services:\u00a0<\/b>Short-term counseling and interventions, referrals to other resources<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><b>Financial Assistance:\u00a0<\/b>Within the policies of the organization<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><b>Resources:\u00a0<\/b>Fact sheets, education and training materials\/guides, linkages and collaborations with appropriate organizations and institutions<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><b>Presentations:\u00a0<\/b>Seminars, workshops, and webinars on topics and issues relevant to the Orthodox Christian Community and today\u2019s society<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><a
