Festival News
This year’s festival once again was a remarkable success. Everyone loved the great food, seeing friends, and taking in the feeling of our wonderful church St. Athanasios. None of it would have been possible if it were not for all the parishioners that gave up a large part of their time by volunteering to ensure that the festival was a success. The volunteers, donors, sponsors, and their commitment to not only our parish, but to our community, show the best things about our church that you cannot find anywhere else.
The food sales amounted to $152,665 as itemized below and the 50/50 Raffle had $5,740 in raffle ticket sales.

Fathers Message – Summer
Dear Parishioners,
The arrival of summer signals a time for revitalization, reassessment and improvement when it comes to our spiritual lives, our church community and for ourselves. As a community, we use this season to take a break from the ministries of the parish, to regroup and reassess going into the new year in the fall. We also use it as a planning period, specifically when a parish has important fundraisers and campaigns in store. It is with this hope that we continue to garner support and prayers from all our faithful in order to contribute to the improvement and repairs of our community and at the same time to instill more fellowship.
As we know, the culmination of the summer months occurs during the first fifteen days of August (Dekapentavgousto), a period dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos, beginning with a fast and concluding on the 15th of the month, on the feast itself.
This period, also known as the ‘Summer Pascha’ recognizes this event in light of the Lord’s Resurrection. We know that the Theotokos’ body was transported into the heavens after her falling asleep, into the hands of her Son, and we see this event always in a Resurrectional light. To prepare for this feast, in addition to fasting, we approach it in the context of one of the most recognizable services in the Church’s liturgical life, the Paraklesis to the Theotokos, which is celebrated on almost each night of the fast.
New Stewardship 2023 Online Giving
We are moving to a new online system for managing our parish called Realm. Everyone will be able to create their own account to see statements, make pledges, make donations and more.
Request New Account: https://onrealm.org/stathnj
Pay Stewardship: https://onrealm.org/stathnj/give/s2023
If you use the new system you do not need to mail a pledge card or payments – its all handled online. Once you request an account we will match your email to your existing stewardship account and you will be able to see a history of your donations. We will also be letting people opt-out of mailed statements to save costs and move to a paperless office over time. You can edit your profile to indicate if you still want statements mailed to you otherwise we will be sending them electronically.
