The Falling Asleep of Father Ioannis Andreadis

Dear Parishioners,

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Father Ioannis Andreadis, who so lovingly assisted our community of St. Athanasios, along with many parishes of the Metropolis of New Jersey.

Born and raised on the island of Karpathos, Greece, Father Ioannis served the Holy Orthodox Church as a clergyman for over 65 years. He resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Anastasia and Antoni Diakos in New Jersey.

Father Ioannis will be greatly missed and we pray that our Lord Jesus Christ grant him peace and life everlasting in His Kingdom. We extend our deepest sympathy to his entire family and may his memory be eternal.

As we know, due to the state wide coronavirus restrictions, the closed door funeral service will be held on Monday, April 6th at 10:00 am at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church. For this reason, we will live stream the entire service so that all family members, friends and parishioners can observe and pray for the repose of his soul.

With Christian Agape,
Fr. Anargyros
