News

Dear Parents,

Thank you to all the families that have been involved with H.O.P.E./J.O.Y. these past few months! We had a busy few months of events that included:

  • Pumpkin painting
  • Annual Christmas Party
  • Weekly Basketball & Volleyball Camp (February – April)
  • Cookie Decorating & Pizza Party
  • March Pizza Party

All of these events gave the children the opportunity to learn about their faith, their Church & the world around them.

We still have events coming up, so please follow our private Facebook page: St. Athanasios H.O.P.E./J.O.Y for additional event information & pictures.

Please contact Ellainy, at grkkukli@yahoo.com or Angela with any questions or suggestions that you may have regarding our events and/or if you are interested in volunteering.

We hope that you and your family have a wonderful Pascha!

Ellainy Karaboitis-Christopoulos and

Angela Koutsouras

What is HOPE/JOY?

The purpose of HOPE (Hellenic Orthodox Primary Education) and JOY (Junior Orthodox Youth) is to gather and create Orthodox Christian fellowship for children ages 4-7 (we accept children below the age of 4, but MUST be accompanied by parent) and 8-12 respectively. By making friendships early on, the children will want to come and participate later for GOYA (Greek Orthodox Youth of America) and have a greater participation in the Greek Orthodox Christian community as they grow and also make lifelong friendships.

Activities are held once a month on Fridays (usually following the conclusion of Greek Dance) and center on themes/holidays that take place in the month.Father begins the activity with a lesson for the children and prayer, followed by dinner and the activity.HOPE/JOY families must be current stewards with St. Athanasios for the 2018-2019 year & have completed registration (attached).

We hope to see you and your families in future activities!
