The Philoptochos Women’s Society of St. Athanasios is an organization whose primary purpose is aimed toward philanthropic endeavors and programs. All men and women in our parish may become members of this society, which provides for the disadvantaged and assists the church in many ways. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month.

As the new ecclesiastical year has begun, our St. Irenes Philoptochos Society once again has moved into high gear. Our first meeting took place Tuesday, September, 19th and the first thing on our agenda was the preparations for our annual Fashion Show.
Our Fashion Show event will take place on Tuesday, November 7th, at the Venetian and is one of our major and most successful fundraiser event of the year. The proceeds are earmarked for many philanthropic programs as well as calls that we receive from various individuals and organizations asking for our support.
In previous years, our Fashion Show has always been very successful because of the help and generosity of our parishioners. We genuinely are thanking you for your support!
By now you should have received our 50/50 raffle tickets in the mail, and we are once again asking for your assistance in either buying or selling the tickets. The proceeds of this years raffle are earmarked for the Children’s Medical Fund.
As you can see the proceeds are going for a very worthy charity. The Fund provides grants for innovative research programs to pediatric hospitals throughout the United States and to organizations with special programs that care for children with critical and life threatening illnesses
The main goal of the ladies of Philoptochos is to offer love and assistance to those in need. Please consider in becoming an active member of our Philoptochos family, we could certainly use your help!
